Explore. Create. Imagine.

Hi! Thanks for stopping by. Let me introduce myself, the face behind Magic Tree Toys. My name is Tegan, I’m an early childhood teacher, a foster carer and a Mum. I live with my partner and our two boys on Wadandi Boodja, in the beautiful town of Margaret River in the South West of Western Australia.

Early childhood education has long been a passion of mine and with that, of course, comes the magical world of play. I have always been drawn to beautiful quality toys, especially toys that are handmade, ethically made and open ended. I have a huge passion for nature based play. I just get so excited by the endless possibilities of exploring, creating and imagining through play.

Since I have always loved sourcing beautiful quality resources for my own children and the children I have worked with, I thought it was about time I shared my passion with my local community. It has been an absolute joy sourcing quality and ethical toy makers and bringing the beautiful pieces to Margaret River. I am just beyond excited to share some of our beautiful brands.

Why Magic Tree Toys? This was the hardest choice I had to make in terms of business decisions. The supplies came easily, as I’ve been planning and dreaming of them for years. But the name was a little harder. I wanted a name that captured the joy and magic that play can bring. In my childhood, I spent a lot of time playing outdoors in the beautiful Margaret River region, surrounded my some of mother nature’s most beautiful creations.

Close to my childhood home is the beautiful Boranup Karri forest. I always loved to imagine the secret and magical characters hiding under the toadstools, or atop the tallest trees. I dreamed up worlds of fairies, of pixies and gnomes, playing around in secret, hidden away from the human eye. To me, trees are magic, nature is magic. So is play, learning and everything that early childhood encapsulates. And so, Magic Tree Toys was born. With the tag line ‘Explore, Create, Imagine’. I think those three words beautifully represent the roles that children play in their world.

I hope that while you’re here, you can find some treasures that you love and adore, and that will lead to hours upon hours of rich and magical play experiences.

The only limit is your imagination, so there’s actually no limit at all.

I wish to respectfully acknowledge the traditional custodians of Wadandi Boodja, Saltwater People’s country, the land upon which I work and live. I’d like to pay my respects to elders past, present and emerging. I extend my respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, as the traditional custodians of this country.
